Family planning
I've been into health optimization for years — tracking recovery, training consistently, dialing in nutrition — but my energy and drive had been quietly declining and I knew my testosterone levels were part of the issue. The problem was every clinic I looked at either had a 3-week wait, charged hidden fees on top of hidden fees, or made me feel like I was just a number.
Super easy process and dealt with real people within 24 hours
Since turning 40 last year, I've felt very lethargic and I'd have crazy afternoon burnout. Also, I had very little interest in being intimate with my wife. Thankfully, I came across Feel30 and got my blood work checked. It turns out that my testosterone levels were insanely low, and I have no idea how I was functioning. The doctor was shocked how I was functioning at the level I was at. He said I was running at the levels of a 70 year old male.

At Feel30, we work with hand-picked, board-certified physicians who specialize in hormone health, longevity, and preventive medicine. Our medical team understands that factors such as disrupted sleep, physical stress, and demanding work schedules can affect how firefighters feel. You’ll have a dedicated, licensed U.S.-based physician who will review your symptoms, bloodwork, medical history, and health goals to determine whether TRT is appropriate for you. If treatment is prescribed, your physician will monitor your response, assess potential risks, and adjust your treatment to reflect your changing needs.
TRT stands for testosterone replacement therapy. This is a medical treatment for men whose testosterone is confirmed to be low through appropriate blood testing. According to the Endocrine Society, licensed healthcare professionals should diagnose and confirm Low T based on a review of related symptoms and an early-morning testosterone blood test. TRT is designed to bring low testosterone back into a normal range, and it’s available in several forms such as injections, gels, creams, and oral treatments.
At Feel30, we prescribe injectable testosterone cypionate. We also offer Enclomiphene, a separate testosterone treatment option that stimulates natural production, unlike TRT, which replaces it.
Testosterone levels naturally decline with age; however, there are medical conditions, medications, and lifestyle factors that can also contribute to Low T. For firefighters, irregular sleep schedules, work that’s physically demanding, and occupational stress may all affect levels of testosterone in the following ways:
Important: Feeling exhausted after an overnight call or several demanding shifts doesn't automatically mean you have Low T. Sleep deprivation, stress, and other health conditions can cause similar symptoms. The only way to know if you have Low T is through an assessment of your symptoms by a licensed healthcare professional and a blood test that confirms low testosterone levels.
The signs of Low T include physical, sexual, and emotional symptoms.
Firefighters might find it difficult to distinguish these symptoms from the effects of interrupted sleep, 24-hour shifts, and occupational stress.
Note: If you have these symptoms, it doesn’t automatically mean you have Low T. Only a review of your symptoms and a testosterone blood test can confirm you have testosterone deficiency. Take our free assessment and an at-home testosterone test. A licensed provider will review your symptoms, test results, medical history, and different lifestyle factors, and determine whether TRT is right for you.
Yes, when prescribed and monitored by a licensed healthcare provider, TRT can be safe. However, it may cause side effects that vary from person to person, just like any other treatment. Clinical guidelines by the Endocrine Society note that testosterone treatment requires regular monitoring. This ensures providers can keep evaluating your response to medication and adjust or halt it if needed.
Note that TRT is an FDA-approved treatment. Whether it's appropriate for you depends on your symptoms, results of your blood test, and medical history.
At Feel30, licensed healthcare professionals provide ongoing care and monitoring throughout treatment.
While TRT is generally well tolerated, there are side effects you should be aware of:
Testosterone therapy may also suppress the body's own testosterone production and reduce sperm production. Discuss your fertility plans with your provider if you have any plans to have children, so they may consider other alternative testosterone treatments.
TRT isn't suitable for everyone. The Endocrine Society notes that healthcare providers should not start treatment in men with:
Yes, working 24-hour shifts can affect your levels of testosterone, particularly when overnight calls interfere with your sleep repeatedly. This is because the production of testosterone is closely linked to sleep. Inadequate rest can disrupt normal hormonal regulation.
A 2011 study titled Effect of 1 Week of Sleep Restriction on Testosterone Levels in Young Healthy Men, published in JAMA by Leproult and Van Cauter, found that restricting 10 healthy young men to five hours of sleep per night for one week reduced daytime testosterone levels by approximately 10–15%.
However, not every firefighter who works 24-hour shifts will develop Low T. The effects of sleep restriction vary, and other studies have reported different findings.
If you’re experiencing symptoms of Low T such as persistent fatigue or reduced sex drive, consider checking your testosterone levels.
The clinical guideline Diagnosis and Management of Testosterone Deficiency Syndrome in Men recommends collecting blood samples within three hours of waking for shift workers. If possible, schedule your test after getting adequate sleep, not immediately after an exhausting overnight shift. A licensed healthcare provider should also consider your sleep schedule when interpreting the results.
Normally, the Endocrine Society recommends an early-morning blood test because testosterone levels are typically highest in the morning. However, firefighters working a 24-hour shift may have disrupted sleep from overnight emergency calls. This can affect testosterone levels and, in turn, affect test results.
Note: One low testosterone reading doesn't confirm testosterone deficiency.
Yes. Train as you normally would, and tell your provider what your routine looks like so it's part of the conversation. Note that TRT is not a training aid; it’s a treatment for confirmed Low T, and we prescribe and monitor it on that basis.
